New Running Track

ATC Corp. was proud to complete the construction of a new running track and athletic facility at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore, Maryland, working in partnership with general contractor LDD Sports.

Constructed from the ground up, the project transformed the school’s athletic space into a modern, high-performance venue designed to support physical education, student athletics, and community recreation for years to come.

The project included site preparation, grading, athletic field integration, and installation of a Plexitrac® Lightning running track surface manufactured by California Sports Surfaces. The finished facility provides a durable, all-weather athletic surface designed for safety, performance, and long-term reliability.

The completion of the project was celebrated with a community ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, Baltimore City officials, school leadership, project partners, and students. The event highlighted the City’s continued investment in educational facilities and youth athletics while demonstrating the positive impact quality recreational infrastructure can have on local communities.

Throughout the celebration, students were able to experience the new facility firsthand, creating an energetic atmosphere that reflected the importance of providing safe and accessible spaces for physical activity and athletic development. Local media coverage documented the event as community leaders joined students in celebrating the opening of the new track.

Drone footage of the completed project showcases the fully reconstructed athletic complex, featuring the new Plexitrac® Lightning running track surrounding a multi-purpose athletic field that now serves as a centerpiece for school and community activities.
